Harpenden Carnival Details Announced
57th Harpenden Summer Carnival announced

Exciting news – the Harpenden Summer Carnival is back on Saturday, June 8th, from 12-6 pm. It's one of the biggest highlights of our town's calendar, and we can't wait to see you there!
This year, the event will be showcasing the very best of Harpenden with a day full of free fun for everyone. Not only is it a blast, but it’s also a huge fundraiser for some amazing charities. The event is supporting the Town Mayor’s chosen charities, Youth Talk and the Harpenden Trust's Wellbeing Hub, along with other great causes picked by the Round Table. Thanks to our generous sponsors, stallholders, participants, and all of you wonderful visitors, the event has raised loads of money over the years for fantastic causes.
Douglas Sleaper from Savills Harpenden, the event's lead sponsor this year, is just as escited about the event as we are. He says, “Harpenden Carnival is a great celebration of our local community and we’re proud to have been involved for several years. As well as being a lot of fun for all the family it also raises a considerable amount of money for so many good causes. This year promises to be no exception and we can’t wait to welcome as many people as possible.”
Now, let's talk entertainment!
There's a fantastic lineup on the Music Stage, featuring vintage Rock’n’Roll band James and the Blue Moon, the super talented Sam Lewis, and local favorites Number 7 and Maida Vales. Over at the Performance Zone, get ready for jaw-dropping acts from world-famous circus artist Richard Filby, hilarious comedy juggler Matt Bernard, the award-winning Cha Char Chimps for the little ones, and the fabulous Cotter Academy of Irish Dance.
And that’s not all!
The Bubble Wizard is making a return by popular demand, plus there’s soft play, a climbing wall, archery, fairground rides, face painting, bungee trampolines, inflatables, ferret racing, mini golf – you name it, the Harpenden Carnival has got it!
Feeling hungry?
They've got you covered with a variety of food stalls offering BBQs, souvlaki, Indian street food, sourdough toasties, soul food, and a range of vegan delights.
Need a drink?
The Engineer Pub will be hosting a lively outdoor bar, and you can also enjoy frozen cocktails near the Music Stage.
Our Town Mayor, Cllr Pip Liver, is thrilled about the event. She says, “The Harpenden Carnival is an exciting summer tradition and the Town Council is delighted to organise such a vibrant and diverse event. The Carnival helps us to support local businesses and community groups, whilst raising considerable sums for charity. It is always great to see such community spirit on Harpenden Common. I’d like to thank our sponsors this year, Savills, Harpenden Dental Centre and Lyndhurst Financial Management whose generosity allows us to host such an important and enjoyable event.”
Don’t forget to stop by the Information Tent opposite the Music Stage. Town Council Officers will be there to greet you, and parents and carers can pick up a lost persons wristband for children and vulnerable visitors. You can also find out more about other Town Council events.
And guess what?
Art on the Common is happening on the same day from 10-5 pm right outside Park Hall. This popular event supports Cancer Research and features over 60 local artists. It’s the perfect chance to meet the artists and buy some amazing pieces.
So mark your calendars, bring your family and friends, and join the rest of Harpenden for a day of fun, food, and fantastic entertainment at the Harpenden Summer Carnival!
