This Charity Quiz & Games Night is being organised as part of the inspiring Dragon’s Apprentice Challenge, where a team of ambitious students, from Katherine Warington School, is aiming to turn £100 into £1,000 to support local charity Communities 1st.
The team is supported throughout the project by an experienced local Business Mentor who volunteers their time to help them develop their ideas and business skills during the challenge.
In addition to this Quiz & Games Night, the team has already organised and run a Bake Sale, created and sold a unique 'Images of Harpenden' Calendar and has a further Sweet Sale planned too.
Every penny raised helps the Communities 1st charity, with all proceeds supporting its 'Communities Thirst' Coffe Cart project.

The Dragons Apprentice Challenge pairs teams of Year 12 students with local business people (a Dragon) and a local charity or community group. They are then tasked with developing business strategies and delivering their ideas to turn £100 of seed capital into £1,000 or more, with all profit generated going directly to the team’s charity.
The team planning this project are from Katherine Warrington School and they are being mentored by local Businessman Peter Barker.
The money raised by this project will be directly supporting the charity's 'Communities Thirst' Coffee Cart' initiative.
Communities 1st develops, connects and supports local voluntary and community organisations, helping to improve the quality of local peoples lives.
It provides support services for older people and those with vulnerabilities and facilitates various meetings and events around health and wellbeing within the local community.
